Tonight's Reds' starting first baseman has 1,527 innings of big league outfield experience.
That's 1,526 more innings of big league outfield experience than tonight's starting left fielder and center fielder combined.
@Reds@PNCBank This front office is a mess. Roster construction trainwreck. McClain becomes 3rd IF moved to OF. One of which, Steer, was a gold glove finalist at his position. This club doesn’t value defense, but when they traded for a washed up 3B last year we were told run prevention😂
@PlatinumKey13 Maybe Pirates fans should know the game. Guys don’t hit batters intentionally with the bases empty in a tied game in the 7th. Pirates fans need to toughen up. All 500 of them.
The MLB trade deadline is approaching. Let's walk down memory lane.
This year, Cincinnati Reds president of baseball operations Nick Krall said, "We're trying to keep our heads above water right now. If we can keep our heads above water, we have a shot to hang in there. You're going to have to take some more time before we can figure out exactly who we are and what we can do."
One year ago, Krall said, “As we…get some guys back, it's right now a wait and see on where we are and if there's another injury or two down the road we have to patch. I think that's what we're looking at.”
At the 2024 deadline, Krall told us he was "working on all different sides" and then added Ty France on a waiver claim.
At the 2023 deadline, when the streaking Reds were in first place with a young, exciting team, Krall said, “I think we want to do whatever we can for this team" and then proceeded to do almost nothing.
Same thing every year. I'm exhausted.
"Keeping our heads above water" is what you do when you're trying not to drown. This franchise should be trying to win.
In case you missed it:
The Cincinnati Reds Youth Camp wraps up today out at Unioto High School. Our Aaron Glandon stopped out there yesterday to speak with Ross Lunsford, the field director for the program.
Watch our report here: https://t.co/yDr7spzu1p
It's a great program for the youth in our area and we’re excited to have it back next year!
Remember when the @Reds told us that trading prospects to try to win the division in 2023 was a bad move? How how we just couldn’t part ways with prospects like CES and Rece Hinds? @dotsonc
I could’ve sworn we were told that all these base running mistakes, and mental errors that the @Reds are known for were a David Bell problem. I’m confused. @dotsonc
@dotsonc I agree! He made another, maybe even more important play, when he handled that bad hop and started a 6-4-3 DP. They’ll be a lot of people on the Elly bandwagon by the end of this season.
Out of the teams I’ve watched the @Reds are the most conservative team in using their ABS challenges. Today at least 3 called strike 3s were balls and not challenged. Francona needs to quit preaching being so conservative.
The whole season, people were saying the Reds would be a team that could do well in the playoffs because of Hunter Greene, Nick Lodolo, and Andrew Abbott.
HG struggled.
Lodolo threw 14 pitches.
Abbott isn’t going to throw a pitch.
Wild.
