@aruvinchan If we look at 5000 years Chinese history, Japanese hierarchy only switched in recent 100 years when Qing dynasty lost the 1st Sino-Japanese war.

Before that, Chinese were always on top of Japanese.

Not to mention that Japanese previously lost their wars to Tang & Ming dynasty.

In contrast, the Japanese chose to embrace 繁体字(kanji) instead abandon it. Till today Japanese even write their names in 繁体字

@aruvinchan Agree. Before powerful European armies landed Japan & China, Korean used to admire China, they even labelled themselves as “小中华” a.k.a mini China back in old days.

They even used Chinese characters a.k.a Hanja before they invented their own wording system.

But the Japanese has an ace under their sleeves; Strongest navy in Asia. Number definitely smaller than PRC navy, but very formidable, even stronger than UK & French navy.
