@PeretzLange Oh that would be fun! I’m doing work in child sexual abuse and suicidal. I’m a PhD candidate (about to defend!) and I’m also working as a clinician at the moment. Let me know if you want this topic in your schedule!
@PhDVoice It’s about perseverance and how well you communicate in writing. When applying for a PhD be clear what your goal is & why you fit well with a superior. You don’t need to be an excellent writer, you just have to make an argument. The rest of the skills you’ll learn along the way!
I’m a phd psychology student who is almost done their clinical program. I will be going into clinical practice, but I still want to publish and have a hand in research of some sort. How can this be accomplished?

@PhDVoice But you can get the same benefits from local/national conferences without the cost. If your supervisor presents on your behalf it is cost effective and is common in my field for students. At the end of the day it’s a line on your CV and it’s only good when you apply for funding
@PhDVoice Depending on your field, department and supervisor (also if your study was part of a larger project your supervisor can expense the conference) paying for conferences out of pocket seems to be common for me. If you want to network conferences are great way to do it. 🧵 1/2
