WBW - 2018 Domaine Lucien Jacob Aligoté from Burgundy. A little known variety is a X BTW Pinot & Gouais. In the shadow of Chardonnay, Aligoté was seen in the 18th c and apart from making whites , is often used in the production of Crémant de Bourgogne.

Matt's in Seoul, South Korea, so yesterday on WBW he tasted a local brew Cass Fresh. Perfect for the middle of summer with the warm humid weather. An American style lager that suits the climate. Cold, wet and easy drinking.

Today on WBW, I look at a Golden Ale from Hook Norton Brewery. Great beer, lively citrus characters and balanced hop notes. Three hops used, traditional Golding and Fuggles and their first brew with the famous Willamette hop. The king of aromatics!

This week in Wine Back Wednesday, I tasted the 2020 @jean_claude_boisset Les Ursulines Bourgogne. In good vintages, like 2020, entry level Burgundies can over deliver for their price. This well-made wine is 100% Pinot noir from vineyards 35-40 yo and is matured in French oak.

Of course only 5 years only lees...6 years is impossible being a 2017!
