@MarkMadDogDavis The Fed raised interest rates 11 times during Biden’s presidency — 7 times in 2022 and 4 times in 2023. Rates went from 0–0.25% to 5.25–5.50%, a total increase of 5.25 percentage points. Four of those hikes were 0.75% each. Today’s 0.25% hike is hardly unprecedented.

@MarkMadDogDavis For some perspective: the all-time record high for regular gas in the U.S. was $5.016 per gallon on June 14, 2022. Gas in our area is already around $4.19 today, putting us about 83 cents below that record. What’s especially concerning is how quickly prices are moving.

@MarkMadDogDavis Saying “Florida tourism is down” without context is misleading. It’s down about 1.4% YTD after Florida set an all-time tourism record in 2025 with 143.3 million visitors. Florida also gets roughly 30% more visitors now than it did a decade ago. A slight dip from a record high.
