Let’s talk a bit about Governance in the 1inch DAO.

First, the 1inch DAO is still evolving. Essential steps like establishing a Constitution and clear rules are underway. However, it's already operational: 1inch tokens and the DAO launched, and Phase 3 of full decentralization began in early 2023. Now is a great time to join and be part of the 1inch Network!

By owning and staking $1inch tokens, you gain Unicorn Power, allowing you to participate in governance, vote on proposals, and earn rewards. The longer you stake (up to 2 years), the more Unicorn Power you accumulate. You can also delegate your voting power to recognized delegates, approved by Snapshot voting and listed on the forum. Delegating can be beneficial as it allows experienced delegates to make informed decisions on your behalf, ensuring that your voting power is effectively utilized even if you are not able to participate actively.

1inch DAO's delegation program is open to anyone. Apply as a delegate by filling out a form on the forum with your contributions, goals, and action plan. It can even be a paid position if you maintain at least 10,000 voting power. Then, proceed through the proposal process.

The proposal process typically involves:
- Forum post
- Gathering comments
- Temperature check through a poll on the forum
- If all is good, implementing the proposal on Snapshot and voting.

While most proposals succeed on @SnapshotLabs due to temperature checks on the forum, unexpected events can occur. For example, a proposal to reduce 1inch Governance Quorum from 12M to 7M Unicorn Power on Snapshot:

The community didn’t agree on that this time, as such a significant change required deeper analysis. This shows that governance is effective!
