Take-Two is issuing DMCA takedowns aggressively — that's the strongest signal something real is in there. Companies don't usually burn legal resources chasing obviously fake/AI content. But "some real footage exists" ≠ "leaker has the complete finished game."

Most likely origin theory (unconfirmed, but timing fits): a former Rockstar employee let go in the late-2025 layoffs (30-40+ people across UK/Canada, more in Edinburgh) may have walked away with a pre-delay 2025 build out of resentment. Motive + timing line up.

Even the "2025 song = recent build" theory has a hole: if this leaker is (or got the files from) an actual dev/ex-dev, they'd have the know-how to manually swap a song into an older build to make the leak look fresher and more viral. Can't rule that out.

That plane flyover looks more like a free-cam/debug tool used to test streaming, LOD and draw distance — standard internal QA stuff, not a proof of a finished, playable open world.

"But you can see the WHOLE map in the plane video!" — true, but that doesn't mean the whole game is playable. In open world dev, world geometry/streaming is usually locked down long before missions, NPCs and content are finished everywhere. Seeing the map ≠ having the game.
