IDK I’m just really tired of everything good in journalism dying and almost none of the talented and necessary journalists out there being able to find salaried consistent work.
If you would’ve told me in 2008 when Robert Pattinson first starred as Edward Cullen in the original Twilight, that Pattinson would go on to make some of the boldest, riskiest films of the next two decades, I’m not sure I would’ve believed you. But here we are- the year is 2025 & Pattinson has exceeded any expectations bestowed on him as a teenage heartthrob.
In just under twenty years, Pattinson’s already covered so many bases. He’s nailed blockbusters like The Batman, starred alongside powerhouse actors like Willem Dafoe in The Lighthouse, and worked with some of the best filmmakers alive like Christopher Nolan and Bong Joon Ho. That’s all without mentioning perhaps Pattinson’s most impressive & vulnerable role in the Safdie Brothers’ film Good Time, which I think is one of the best performances from any actor in the ‘10s.
People keep suggesting that the “movie star” is dead, but I question whether those skeptics are familiar with Pattinson’s work. Pattinson is already so clearly a quintessential movie star. Moreover, the future for Pattinson is bright as hell. Pattinson’s upcoming release with Jennifer Lawrence titled Die, My Love is already receiving early #Oscar buzz, plus, Pattinson is preparing to shoot Nolan’s The Odyssey as well as the sequel to The Batman later in 2025. For Pattinson to have all this cooking right after a phenomenal performance in #Mickey17 is iconic. Without question, Pattinson’s career should quiet those who continue to suggest that Hollywood is devoid of movie stars.
I’m extremely thankful Robert Pattinson continues to take risks & continues to nail those risks. We need more actors like Pattinson now more than ever.
For people without power or water for over two weeks I think the government should reimburse for accommodation and credit their next ESB bill. A small ask compared to how they are throwing money around in general.
Sometimes an interview stays with you long after recording for news. John McDonagh from An Cheathrú Rua is 82 and is unwell and freezing cold since the storm knocked out his electricity in Conemara 5 days ago #storm#Conemara#gaeltacht
A mother of three autistic children in county Galway without electricity since Storm Éowyn hit last Friday says she and her family feel forgotten about as the wait for reconnection continues

Still no power, water, network or heat in #Glenamaddy and from what I saw last night heading home #Abbeyknockmoy, #Moylough or #Kilkerrin. It is getting really tough for people now and yes I remember Hurricane Charlie and it was bad but times are very different now. #StormÉowyn
what makes Saoirse Ronan such a fascinating performer is her ability to make each character feel like we’re seeing a real person in real time. she makes it seem so effortless and natural, which is probably why people relate so much with many of them. simply a generational talent.

Unless you're a kid with scoliosis. Or a homeless kid.
Or a kid with disability in need of therapy/ school placement. Or you're on a hospital trolley. Or you're a public cancer patient denied access to drugs given to private patients. FG don't have the energy/experience for you!
i’m kinda fascinated by the irony of the brat album cycle, because charli basically wrote the definitive “pop’s middle class” concept record, and it articulated that phenomenon so well that it pulled charli out of pop’s middle class
Greta stopped being a media darling when she started connecting climate to capitalism. Now that she connects climate to colonialism and genocide, she has fallen outside the acceptable bounds of corporate media altogether.
