Direct solar radiation penetrates only a few millimetres of the land surface of the Earth while It's thermal effect reaches 10 to 20 metres in depth. According to research on the Geothermal Gradient any depth past 20 metres is completely insulated from the Earth's surface.
In the oceans solar radiation penetrates up to 1000 metres warming the water. Surface currents like the Gulf Stream transport this warm water, pushed by warm surface air, from the tropics to higher latitudes. Deeper currents, the Thermohaline Circulation, take approx 1000 years to make one loop in the Global conveyor Belt. This is how heat is transported, and warms the 1.335 billion cubic kilometres of ocean, around the Earth and warmed it since the end of the last glacial event releasing CO2. Not through surface land warming.

He did stand for freedom of speech by saying that venues should not pre-determine what performers say in public. He also said he needs to understand the situation in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank better implying he doesn't understand it very well. And why should he; it is a long running political situation that has been evolving since the end of the Ottoman Empire. Britain is no longer the world power it was and has done enough in Palestine, Israel and the Middle East to fill a library. There are many situations which are as bad iff not worse than the current one in Gaza and neither the Arabs or Jews really want Britain to do very much.

However I don't think CO2 has much affect on Global Warming or should I say the Greenhouse Effect. Because if one proceeds from an understanding that warming comes before any rise in CO2 then it becomes apparent that the Greenhouse Effect is far more complicated and chaotic and then comes the realisation that it cannot be modelled. Al Gore made a fundamental mistake, either deliberate or because he's not all that clever (just a massive egotist), in his understanding of CO2: that the oceans released CO2 as it slowly warmed up over hundreds and thousands of years.

You are not ethnically English. How can you be when both your parents and then, I assume, your grandparents, are Pakistani. I am ethnically English although I was born in Malaysia and lived there for several years before coming to England. Like Ian Hislop who was born in Hong Kong, our ethnicity and cultural identity is English. For your children or grandchildren to become English you must wed an Englishman; someone like Tom Hiddleston, who could osmotically impart Englishness upon you and your progeny. Only then, after some time could you become English. And you'd have to renounce that ridiculous, inhuman religion you apparently are part of and delight in going to pubs. Otherwise you can't be English.

The IPCC has dropped RPC 8.5 trajectory because contributors to the IPCC reports recognise it produced extreme models for the future. It would only occur iff we produced about 10 times as much coal worldwide as we do. Consequently we are on a path to avoiding that scenario. But that realisation hasn't got through to the politicians in the UN, around the world and their propagandists in the media.

Is she prepared to pay reparations? Or do we have to register our ethnicity with the govt to determine who gets taxed to pay for it. Surely it would be more practical for White people to have a certificate or identity card proving their ethnicity so they could be taxed. The govt may have to pass laws on the lines of the 1935 Nuremburg Race Laws. It would go toward helping solve both the Aryan problem and the Jew problem.

This is the voice of Najmeh Amini, a 23 year old accounting student, speaking from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. In her voice message she says: «Be my voice. I am an innocent girl, a young woman full of hopes and dreams.»

Najmeh is one of the detainees of the January uprising .

She spent months in detention without a verdict, denied access to a lawyer of her choice and pressured during interrogation. In August, her trial was held at the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad on charges of «assembly and collusion» and «insulting sacred values.»

She said in her voice message that her death sentence was issued on September 16, 2026.

In her own words: «People, I only want justice and the chance to defend myself.» And this is her dream: «Before the rope ends my life, let me see my Iran prosperous and free.»

Be her voice and all of political prisoners, especially those at risk of execution.

Turbines (especially nacelles) for UK offshore wind and towers/blades are largely imported from Denmark, Germany, Spain, China and elsewhere. The UK has no major turbine OEM factory. At least 50% of UK offshore wind inputs sourced from abroad. UK employment in the industry is about 40,000. A fraction of the jobs lost in oil, gas and heavy industry thanks to the energy policies you promote.
