Real books change your very psyche. Not the self-help books. The long, difficult, soul-altering books. The Brothers Karamazov. One Hundred Years of Solitude. The Stranger. The Old Man and the Sea. Crime and Punishment. In Search of Lost Time. Writers who understood loneliness. Meaning. Human suffering. The quiet chaos inside the mind. Writers who sat alone for years and pulled something true out of their inner darkness and put it on a page so that one day you could read it and feel less alone in your own. They change the way you see people. They expand your perception. They upgrade your consciousness. That's what real books do.
They alter you.
@boneGPT@anjulipie Really appreciate you sharing your journey and this thread brother. Been very curious and intrigued to try as well. Any recommendations for finding quality sources? I’m very very new to peptides and don’t even quite know where to start looking
claude cowork is making me think maybe we’ll look back and it’ll be obvious that humans were never meant to spend their lives working behind a screen. we’ll see it as inevitable that computers do everything for us on computers and the future of work is cooler than we can imagine
@PopcastGuys@luke_leisher_ Bet, great taste lol appreciate the clarification.
Interstellar is my #1. Arrival hit me at a pivotal time so it’s high for me too, but I haven’t experienced some of those classics in theaters. Seen Interstellar and Arrival multiple times in IMAX though so they are special to me
@PopcastGuys@luke_leisher_ What do you mean down by Arrival? I agree with your Interstellar take and saw Project Hail Mary yesterday and enjoyed. Curious which sci fi films you have ahead of Arrival that it is down by Edge of Tomorrow
@bwags Idk but Wonka, Dune 2 and Complete Unknown run definitely clears if we’re talking about range. Love Pesci but he plays more or less the same character in every film he has ever acted in
If LeBron’s incomprehensible 10+ point, 17 year, 1,297 game streak were ever going to end, that was simply the greatest way imaginable:
Sitting on 8 points, tie game, ball in hands, chance to keep streak alive with a make or get to OT with a miss, he… made the right play.
Assisted for the open 3. Ball game. Lakers win.
Just perfect. And we’ll never see anything like that streak again.

I can’t be the only person who quietly wondered to themselves if the child actress who played young Glinda weighed more than Ariana Grande #WickedForGood
When I reported to Elon, we would have X product meetings at 5 or 6pm (because he was with the Tesla team for 10 hours before that), then my 1:1 checkin would be at 10pm, but that would regularly get moved to 11pm or midnight or 1am.
Usually around 2am, he’d go take a nap for a couple hours in the office and then repeat the same schedule again the next day with a different set of companies, 7 days a week.
If Billie Eilish didn't exist, there would be another pop star to fill her shoes.
If Elon Musk didn't exist, the entire trajectory of humanity for the next 1000 years would be irrevocably altered.
Rap is a high art-form . It is rhythm and poetry . It is also one of the most complex forms of writing when it’s mastered . Don’t ever let people devalue the art form that rap is .
What happened to Charlie Kirk is one of the worst things that has happened in American politics. My heart goes out to his family. FUCK WHOEVER DID THIS! Not only is it deeply tragic by itself, but we are now all in danger. Violence is always wrong and it's intellectual surrender.
RIP Charlie Kirk. It doesn’t matter what your opinion is of Charlie or his politics if you don’t view this as one of the darkest days in American history than you are part of the problem.
@QuantumTumbler What do you make of star systems transmitting messages through their light? Example: this past weekend I noticed Vega and it felt as if I was seeing the entire history of the star system play out in one moment. Then came to learn Vega was our North Star 20k yrs ago
