@jk12minnesota Agreed. The physical demands required in Bball are quite a stark contrast to VB and SB. While Andover has good girls travel GBB numbers compared to those around us, there are five 10U SB teams and nine 4th & 5th VB teams compared to four total 4th & 5th grade travel GBB teams.

1. Specialization, VB - We have many girls that are softball/bb. Seems tough to do with VB.
2. MN-specific, hockey

Several community-based travel BB orgs around us that feed top-class H.S.'s struggle to fill even 1 team/grade (3-8th), & don't have teams @ multiple grade levels

Why do you believe we are seeing such a steep decline in girls high school basketball participation? Non-refutable data from the NFHS says that participation has dropped 21% over the last 25 years.

But why? What is your take on the why when the highest levels of the sport have never been more popular.
