Too much reliance on Modals as a design pattern is an indication that the product doesn’t understand its key goals or isn’t structuring its workflows well, in my experience.
@chriswallace@rvig_art Happy birthday - these burgers reminded me that I still think of that one burger joint in old town McKinney we ate at a few times!
Published an article talking about Figma Plugins, the architecture of my recently published Node Vars plugin, and the hand rolled template I made to help make creating Figma plugins trivial, check it out!
@JuanArreguin Oh, you want to replace all references on the canvas to your library var. That’s more challenging - I’d be up for collabing on something like that though, DM me if you want..
I just submitted Node Vars for publishing as a #Figma Community #Plugin! When they approve it - it'll be available for anyone that wants to use it. I'm very excited about it and hope someone finds it useful. If you have any questions or ideas about it - hit me up!
@JuanArreguin Oh, more like a “migrate library collection to local collection”? Or to say another way, a way to point the values of the local collection to the library collection via a variable alias?
You thinking the library and local collections are 1:1 structurally & naming wise?
@JuanArreguin For that sort of feature to work with their plugin architecture you’d need a server to store the variables data from the source so the target files could then use it. Hmm, interesting use case - I’ll think on how it’d actually need to work
@JuanArreguin Yea, little foggy too, hah. I want to say it was around exporting Variables. For that, have you tried exploring publishing variables in a library?
