Sacha Baron Cohen invented a completely false Kazakhstan of dog-shooting festivals, horse-urine wine, buying wives with insecticide, and a hometown full of rapists and prostitutes and MORE.

The “Kazakh village” scenes were filmed in a real Romanian village after the residents were told it was a documentary about POVERTY. They were paid a few dollars a day. When they saw the finished film they sued for $30 million over the deception and humiliation.

Kazakhstan’s government shut down his website, blocked distribution, and spent millions on campaigns just to fight an image that had nothing to do with reality.

Sony is now financing his return.
