I’m staying true to what I KNOW works.
My job is not to entertain with fancy workouts and gadgets.
I will not sell out bc people refuse to believe me.

It gets harder every year to convince kids/parents that simple, safe effective training with progressions is the key to quality athlete training.
They see tik tok videos of “trainers” with a million views, fancy “tech” and think they need to be doing that.
The hinge pattern can LOOK correct but if the athlete says they feel it in their low back, looks are deceiving.
When this happens, we drop weight and go thru the pattern slowly in the proper posture, pushing hips back & coach the athlete to “find the hamstrings”.
If the only time your team thinks about proper nutrition is...
"Pre-game meal" or "Post-workout shake"
you have completely and utterly failed to take advantage of this MAJOR and HUGELY IMPACTFUL area
Completely
I love the chaos of the high school weight room.
I love organizing and reducing the chaos even more.
By the time a team gets in season, its crazy to see how efficient they work compared to the first month of off season.
Every week should look less chaotic than the last.
This really needs to be said
"Low weight, high reps"
Is not appropriate for in-season training
Moderate-High intensity for less volume is the stimulus they need to retain strength and power
Clean pulls > high pulls and it’s not even close
#cancelhighpulls
Editors note: yes, I realize this is light weight. Moved just a couple weights around at the old j-o-b yesterday and will again today so I’m smoked.
Overrated: Core values painted on the wall
Underrated: Clear instructions and expectations
Being a head coach is more than motivational speeches and hashtags
"How do you program without percentages?"
This is one of the most common questions I get
No-percentages is actually how I program for most teams now
Since so many ask, I made a free how-to guide
RT this and comment "send" and I'll DM it to you

Per industry source, the #SFGiants are promoting R.J. Dabovich to Triple-A.
One of the best relief-pitching prospects in the #SFGameUp system, Dabovich has been dominant this year at AA, posting a 2.81 ERA with 37 strikeouts and just 5 walks in 25.2 innings (21 appearances).
Positive leaders are demanding but not demeaning. They’re passionate and committed to excellence but don’t run people over to achieve it. Lead positive today and inspire others to greatness.
This is video of the 88 mph Dabovich CB I'm referring to.
Not many in MLB throw a CB that hard. Only Joe Kelly, Germán Márquez, Jonathan Loáisiga, Jhoan Duran, Bryan Abreu, Craig Kimbrel, José Ruiz, and Dustin May have done it more than 10 times since 2021. Interesting group.
Remember to breathe through your anxiety. Deep breathing calms the vagus nerve which has an effect on physical stress. You can soothe yourself by taking a deep breath in for four counts, holding the breath for four counts, and then exhaling for another count of four.
