@roccolega @InspiringPhilos What would be the motivation for the apostles to fabricate their stories and eyewitness accounts, especially considering it led to their deaths? What about the historical evidence from external sources like Josephus, Tacitus & Lucius. All non-believers who verify the NT accounts.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard a progressive Christian say this, I’d be rich!
We hear this all the time, but what does the Bible say?
”You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things. Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment?“
Romans 2:1-3 NIV
Wait a second.
Don’t judge IF you are doing the same things? So don’t be a hypocritical liar? THAT is the real message?
Yep.
So guess what: if you’re not having gay sex, you may certain condemn society’s acceptance of it. If you’re not accepting bribes or stealing money, you may certainly call out politicians who do.
Just be aware that that opposite is true.
If you yell at Onlyfans girls and e thots while watching porn, this verse nails you to the wall. If you spread gossip online but get angry when it’s done to you? Ouch. If you hate corruption in DC but happily accept unauthorized gifts that influence your work decisions? Gotcha.
There is nothing wrong with calling sin what it really is. But we must free ourselves from our own sin before we call out the same thing. We can’t be hypocritical and if we are, the judgment is worse!
@TheSoleWitness@5solas The most compelling Biblical argument I've seen for baptising your family because you're a believer is the story of the jailer in Acts 16. When he professes faith in Jesus, he along with his family is baptised.
"...and he was baptized at once, he and all his family." Acts 16:33
@DrFrankTurek Teach them the scriptures. The Bible is clear on the idea that God knew us in our mother's womb, knit us as we are when we're born and has a plan for our lives. Men and women are different and have set roles. We are to be spiritually and mentally transformed. Not physically.
@exAtheistRCC Incase anyone else sees this nonsense and wants to know how to respond, the Romans completed their conquest of the area around 19 BC. Working theory is that modern day Spain and Portugal became what was known as Roman Spain at this point. This is what Paul is talking about.
@LanguageGeek95 Shouldn't have taken part in the communion in the first place.
1 Corinthians 11:27
[27] Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord.

@iOnly_die_n_lag @catholicpat Luke 8:20-21 - [20] And he was told, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you.” [21] But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and do it.”
@Soteriology101 How do you reconcile your position with John 6:44, ”John 6:44 ESV
[44] No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day", as well as the Parable of the Sower. The consistency of the soil is not up to us.
