The difference matters to me.
Learning comes from action, and creates a change that comes from within.
Information gathering is passive by nature, you can literally do it forever and stay exactly the same person.

Learning is when something you thought you understood finally costs you enough that you actually change.
If it doesn't cost you, well then you're just collecting information.

I used to think clarity came from sitting quietly, thinking hard enough, and waiting for the answer to appear.
It doesn’t.
