If you want to retain a lawyer never tell them it’s urgent or that you need immediate assistance. Almost nothing in law is urgent. The law is a process. It is not a fast food order. Any good lawyer will be too busy to drop everything to deal with your “urgent matter”.

Changes to the notice requirements for slip and falls are now in effect.

Don’t wait - if you’ve been injured put the responsible party on notice. It doesn’t always mean you will make a claim but it will protect you if you choose to do so.

Effective Jan 29, 2021, there are new notice requirements for a slip and fall claim against the owner/occupier of a property. You must provide 60 days notice of a slip and fall to an occupier in order to bring an action for damages. For municipalities it is still 10 days notice.
