@JessicaBRiedl So it’s not really a question of moving left or moving right. It’s competence (or perceived competence) and a compelling messenger/message that moves the needle. Voters will cross ideological lines, especially at the state or local levels, if a candidate comes correct.
@JessicaBRiedl They want results and generally don’t really care if it’s a traditional Republican or Democratic idea. If they think it’ll work or there’s a compelling messenger (ie Obama or Mamdani), voters will give it shot. But it better work or voters will bail (ie Trump).
