While designing config-as-code support in @OctopusDeploy, we spent time in a bunch of other tools that integrate with git.

These experiences left us feeling there are a few patterns we want to avoid:

@thulanidotnet @davidfowl @shanselman My advice after trying it both ways on a project of similar scale over the last decade: if you have teams that would have to make changes that would span smaller repos, then a monorepo is the way to go. Nothing worse than multiple PRs that need to operate in sync across repos.

@justinjstark I think part of the problem with service lifetimes is that making the choice requires knowing the internals and impl. So that makes it hard to reason about for consumers doing their own wiring, for sure.
