@TwinkTheory Harry’s parents were buried in a church cemetery with 1 Corinthians 15:26 verse reference. Not sure that means they’re more than culturally Christian.
@Erdayastronaut@SpaceX@considercosmos We’re really going to make it back to the moon, aren’t we? It’s been talked about my whole life time, but it finally seems like it’s in our grasp
@cnieuwhof I agree that sabbaticals shouldn’t be a tool to mitigate burnout, but I think all believers would do well with an extended time away for solitude and prayer
@HolyPostPodcast “Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.”
2 Corinthians 4:2 NIV
@cnieuwhof We can point to a lot of things— moral therapeutic deism, accessibility of talented preachers online, political partisanship but the real thing I see in people who once attended- they’ve lost the fear and wonder of God. He’s not big enough or deserving enough to get to church.
@sredden@Google Also—computers don’t take offense, nor are sensitive to what may or may not be appropriate to say—like a child in a grocery store line. It’s a masterclass for humanity to explore our unconscious sense of right and wrong and how we learn how we should treat and talk about others
Great talk from Groeschel at #gls23 about trust. Would love to hear more about character and being trustworthy as a leader— a big need in so many places today
Today in my hometown we enjoyed an hour and a half parade where local businesses, organizations, and opposite political parties all expressed their love for our community by walking, waving, and giving out free candy. I love my town and I’m thankful to be 🇺🇸 🎆
