@trendready Paul, right on the money. It’s abused like crazy. If you legitimately can’t walk to the gate…. use the wheel chair service to the gate .. then board your turn & walk the short distance on to the plane. If you really need it …use it.. Don’t abuse it. I’m first on last off!
I love this tweet. I’m also always the last one off... even when they offer me to hold up the line to deplane.. I alway decline and wait out of curiosity not to hold up the deplaning processes.. @lxzianna you’re the real deal.
I agree about SWA. Maybe u missunderstood?. I’m not throwing legit people under the bus. I’m throwing those that abuse privileges under the bus. I’m attempting to challenge those on the cusp (kinda need it.. kinda don’t) do the right thing become helpers not the ‘needers’.
@mattroloff@lvmaus@SouthwestAir@reign_dynasty Southwest has been good to me too. However, that doesn't mean our experiences are universal. Please don't throw other disabled people under the bus. There's no shame in asking for the accommodations you need.
@BerthaVonNation @SouthwestAir@reign_dynasty No I don’t have CP. I have diastrophic Dysplasia. Research it. very physically limiting but also empowering.
@realDavidStuart @SouthwestAir@reign_dynasty Yes. That the biggest ‘excuse’ to preboard we’ve all been conditioned to use. But why do we see sooo many that use that reason to board first, then clog up the isles when it’s time to get off?.. I use “first on.. then last off”. Stay seated if you take advantage of preboard.
@sealbeachmichae@SouthwestAir@reign_dynasty Yes .. exactly. Thank you! I take pride in independence. My brother Josh, God rest his soul, passed away at age 30 from severe heart defects. He didn’t look disabled but couldn’t walk 200ft without becoming purple/blue & winded. I understand better then many the ‘real’ needs.
@reign_dynasty@lvmaus@SouthwestAir Stop digging yourself in a hole .. I’m going to call you on this.. If you want to email me privately your view of the truth with arguments. I can become your biggest advocate. As a weekly flyer .. This situation is one of my biggest pet peeves .. [email protected]
@reign_dynasty@lvmaus@SouthwestAir Been teased my entire life. Show the athletes w/ your guidance.. resilience & thick skin. That’s how to thrive! How cool it would be if you convinced them to spread out help other passengers.. sit next to strangers, network their experience on your program? Missed opportunity!
@lvmaus@SouthwestAir@reign_dynasty Actually unless you require an Isle chair or similar it is a luxury. This privilege has been so abused. The disability community need to get their dignity back by stop taking advantage of things at the expense of the rest of society. Kudos to those that understand what I mean.
It’s my belief that a much better lesson for those amazing Athletes from the coaches would have been “come on team... We don’t need any special preboards we’re world class athletes”. That message from my parents has been the secret to my success.
@mattroloff@SouthwestAir@reign_dynasty I don’t believe that this woman was demanding anything but respect from SWA employees. As a member of the disabled community myself, being able to board a plane early is not a luxury, but a necessity. It disheartens me to think that you consider this otherwise.
