Amendments change based on historical context and necessity? What are you talking about? 38 state legislatures or conventions (75%) have to vote to ratify any change to the constitution. This framework has saved us from multiple constitutional crisis. We don't need or want political actors to have the ability to alter the constitution.

@Cinemerican @Squigg Why would you pray for SCOTUS to gut a constitutional amendment? Whether you agree with it or not, the same mechanism could allow a future Democrat president to repeal the 2nd amendment, or limit the 1st and 4th amendment, etc. It is a dangerously slippery slope.
