Having a great first day so far at #ngconf.
Heard some great features coming in the next version of angular. Can't wait to get ahold of control flow and signals. 💪
Also deferred loading looks so awesome!
Just finished some amazing lightning talks at #ngconf. My top picks were:
Saw a really cool implementation of inject that's very testing friendly.
A chat window implementation that mimics chatgpt .
Also signal state with deep copy.
Great job all!

Local Change Detection in Angular (component level) 🤔?
- How does it work currently?
When using async pipe or the signals in the template, Angular will use cdr.markForCheck() underneath.
That function will mark the component for check and all its parents until it reaches the root component.
Then zone.js triggers appRef.tick() and Angular goes and re-renders all the dirty components.
- How will it work with local change detection?
When using a signal in the template, and that signal changes, angular will mark only that component that changed for check (and not its parents). Then, zone.js triggers appRef.tick() again, and Angular goes and re-renders all the dirty components (which in our case is only the cmp with changed signal);
This is one of the biggest improvements signals has brought to Angular
