@ayyo_arob@michaeldomps@Pistons__Talk If thatโs what you think happened then you did not actually watch the playoffs. Both the cavs and magic set Duren up in pick and pops to draw him out and he fell for it every timeโฆ
@ayyo_arob@michaeldomps@Pistons__Talk I think you need to watch the playoffs again and see how poorly JD actually played. He was getting hunted by low offensively productive centers. Itโs the job of a center to protect the paint and JD couldnt help off or protect the paintโฆ the stats just back the eye test up
@LieOnMyHill@Pistons__Talk No one is arguing that Paul shouldnt have been in those games, the argument is based on the fact that Jalen Duren was completely unplayable and the biggest liability on the floor not named Daniss Jenkins
@ayyo_arob@michaeldomps@Pistons__Talk Btw that 22 year old was in the 11th percentile for opponent points per possession, 1st percentile in opponent eFG%, and 23rd percentile in opponent TOV%. That is quite literally the WORST defense on the team during the playoffs, WORSE than Duncanโฆ
@ayyo_arob@michaeldomps@Pistons__Talk No one is letting a bad playoff run define a 22 year old. Weโre letting a terrible playoff run define why that 22 year old should not have been soaking up 3/4 of the center minutes
@ayyo_arob@michaeldomps@Pistons__Talk And no they dont, find me a low level all star player whose production got halved in 7 playoff games and then magically returned to form for the next 7.
@LieOnMyHill@Pistons__Talk This has always been a problem with JB, itโs part of the reason why heโs never been to a conference finals as a head coach. Ask Cavs fans, theyโll tell you the same thing
@ayyo_arob@michaeldomps@Pistons__Talk Players dont tap into that potential after getting punked in 14 consecutive games, and yes thats a huge question. Ausar getโs 0 leniency from JB, so why did Duren get to play 422 total playoff minutes compared to Stewโs 165 and Paulโs 83
@BeefStewDPOY@Pistons__Talk They were both backseats to Duren. Thatโs the problem. Duren was the most useless player on the court even more useless than a no knee stew.
@boogeymangyujbg@michaeldomps@Pistons__Talk The team went to Reed and he still didnt even get more minutes than Duren who was arguably the worst player in the entirety of the playoffs. The only player on the team worse than Duren was Daniss. Based on net rating, Stew was the 3rd most impactful player for us in the playoffs
@michaeldomps@Pistons__Talk He was playing through something for sure, but everyone is playing through something come playoff time, unless it was a legitimate concern (didnโt seem like it since he still played)
@OMGMets2o24@Ryan_Shepard734@TalkinBaseball_@RyanCohen24 Watching games and utilizing stats work together, watching games and utilizing xFIP do not work together. Calculating luck for advanced metrics is already a flawed system. Obviously its nice to have, but using advanced stats to argue what you see with your eyes is disingenuous
@OMGMets2o24@Ryan_Shepard734@TalkinBaseball_@RyanCohen24 Dude you have Joey Cantillo as the 5th starter, he has worse stats and advanced stats in just about every metric. Itโs pretty clear youโre just hating on Melton for some reason
@OMGMets2o24@Ryan_Shepard734@TalkinBaseball_@RyanCohen24 Every MLB front office does not agree, using nothing besides advanced analytics to tell you how good a player is just tells everyone that you donโt actually understand the game. Baseball is a significantly different game and canโt be solely based around numbers
