Travelers Should be Prioritized, Not Leveraged

The suspension of TSA PreCheck and Global Entry is extremely disappointing. We are disgusted that over the last 90 days, Democrats and Republicans have used air traffic controllers, TSA, CBP and the entire travel experience as a means to achieve political ends.

Travelers should be prioritized, not leveraged. Travel is the gateway to the American economy and Americans should not have their mobility, security or travel experience diminished because elected leaders fail to resolve their differences.

Travel is vital to the American people and it is time for policymakers to put the American people first.

My mom was stopped and harassed by masked ICE agents while shopping at an outlet mall in Texas. Because she has an accent, they assumed she spoke Spanish and started talking to her in Spanish. When she said she doesn’t speak Spanish, they began demanding where she was “from,” rapidly listing countries without even giving her a chance to respond.

My mom told them she’s been in this country longer than some of them have been alive. She was only allowed to leave after showing a photo of her U.S. passport on her phone.

She is a U.S. citizen. She has lived in this country for 47 years. If you think this is just about “sending criminals back,” you are dead wrong.

We aren't oversimplifying anything. We know the damage Kramnik did to Danya because he told us in some of his final painful words. Trivializing the world's call for justice against Kramnik's malicious campaign of harassment isn't "virtue signaling", but I'm not at all surprised this would be your take given your morals have been bought out for many years now.

But you are right about one thing. We absolutely didn't do enough while Danya was with us, we were not vocal enough about the failures of FIDE to uphold it's own bylaws, and that's what makes me the most sick. It's a mistake I won't make again. You are clearly unfit to lead FIDE. You are a disgrace to Chess and everything it should stand for. Resign immediately.

RFK is making a false claim.

No one "destroyed" anything.

He is talking about a sub-sub group analysis out of >75 subgroup analyses presented in that paper, the ONLY one showing a potential effect, and only in (1) african american (2) boys and (3) <36m -- out of all the >75 subgroups.

One would expect 1-2 to show a potential effect even if there were none, so that result, which was not a prespecified hypothesis, should not be considered an inferential conclusion if the paper is to be statistically valid. If he wanted to consider it an exploratory subgroup analysis based hypothesis to test in future studies? That would be fine and valid.

But he is blatantly misrepresenting this situation -- the result was not statistically significant and it would have been wrong to claim it was.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions – rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking concrete steps to make sure all students at Harvard can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect.
