@robkhenderson The accumulation of nuclear weapons also lends to psychological effects. If your opponent has 10x the amount of nukes you have, it forces you to consider what level destruction they could reap even if it's not realistic that they will ever use them.

@GavinNewsom You also should consider that sourcing government revenue from one income group, such as top-earners, disproportionately puts government policy and projects at the whims of that income group. Policy will become more elitist if it's revenue comes from the elite.
