Sometimes, you forget who you follow.
A good reminder clean things up nicely.
Easy as that. The internet is a tool to be used, not to imprint our soul into.
At least that is my view on it so far.
@MatthewTon5@Thorin I am wondering what makes the games different, and what stops certain players from being insane. In melee, Hbox is still basically absurdly difficult to beat. The guy is now playing less lame because everyone hated him due to him winning too much. It's been over 13 years.
Valve not pouring an extreme amount of money into making a platform-esque console anticheat system, which is 100% unhackable, is a real shame. FPS games are going to die with how fps ai cheats are developing.
We have the tech to beat it or isolate it away, i believe.
(Valve really, really, really had ought to make a hardened variant of Steam Deck/Machine with something comparable to Android Verified Boot for games like these so you don't need to worry about them getting into your everything else just for the privilege.) #PCGamingShow
@VicenteLSenger@notch From good methods 10 years ago i became pretty good at doing research with engines. Ironically today, i can easily see that i am actually a bit more accurate than ai, even still. Because it doesn't have any genuine accuracy to begin with. Zero width or depth to topics.
@b0ltCS2@Thorin So yeah. This is 100% valve's fault. Because their cs division is ran by god complex idiot developers that didn't understand why their game was mega successful. They had zero intellectual idea about it and it shows.
@b0ltCS2@Thorin I genuinely believe that a good few of the old pros that has retired would still be fairly dominant today, if the 2 giga-crucial game engine elements weren't ruined. Truly.
Because. Well. Other esport games that are REALLY old actually have pro players that keep destroying.
@Thorin The brick heads inside valve has not done enough to attack the cheating issue and quality server issues. Gamers can't thrive in an fps game that's riddled with a low iq cheat culture. These are hyper basic elements to identify, at least eu got more fiber. Valve has messed up.
@0ldmanGlen@AI_EmeraldApple Which is why i am pleased to never watch shows as they are new. I always just download completed great shows which also has great endings.
Game of thrones was such a gigantic letdown for many. But i was unaffected ๐ฝ๐๐ป
@0ldmanGlen@AI_EmeraldApple Man, you really wanna hop off and just find the correct torrents. Everyone left TV for a reason. Ads are a cancer on the earth.
ALWAYS remember. They COULD allow us to use EVERY service ad-free, for 1$ a month. But they refuse. Because ad deals earn them loads.
@Sargon_of_Akkad Make spears. I mean it. It's cheap, free, keeps you safer, etc. Make spears. Don't come and tell me we ought not to defend ourselves, right?
A spear wins against swords, and definetly does against knives.
I wish the best for britain. Make spears, seriously.
So i come from CS. Doing the most complex stuff from there pretty much set me up to use the most complex character in melee anyways. But i also didn't want easy mode, so Yoshi fit me the best.
Not sure why people blindly believe this but I never mained Fox lol. I've been a Pikachu main since day 1.
On paper you would think that if I put more time into a high tier, I would be a better player. But in practice it didn't turn out that way.
For the first ~10 years of my career, I spent much more time playing Falco than any other character. But when I entered tournaments, he couldn't perform to the heights of my Pikachu. I spent an absurd amount of time grinding out Fox as well, but for whatever reason my Pikachu still performed better even though I didn't play him as much.
Eventually I leaned into playing Pikachu a lot more and I think he's the character I have the highest potential with. It might sound crazy because he's a lower tier, but sometimes you have to be the one to write the book if it's something you believe in. Years ago I sort of carried him from near bottom tier to high-mid tier, and I think he can go higher thanks to the other amazing Pikachu players that exist now.
There is definitely still a use for other characters as secondaries though. I don't think all of the time I put into practicing them was meaningless. They help in certain matchups, whether against certain characters, stages, or specific players.
But to those saying I would be a better player if I just stuck to a high tier the whole time, I personally think that's wrong even though it might seem right on paper. I think certain people just have a knack for obscure characters and different mechanics that the current top tiers don't provide, and I happen to be one of those people.
@Thorin The definition of keeping it simple.
People today take full educations, just to fail making a nice and fully working, cohesive site. Plastered with garbage ads at that.
