@harryphlyers @IanKennedyCK I think it's more of an ego thing. Hockey is the predominant sport in Canada. Everyone dotes on hockey players. They develop egos. Not all but a lot do. I think it's the flip side in America for football culture. Both are pretty privledged in their own echo chamber of greatness.
