Adam Kingsley, without directly mentioning James Hird, on why being out of the game for a decade doesn’t necessarily prohibit the ability to coach. 👇 @7AFL@GWSGIANTS
"I haven't spoken to anyone from Essendon... I think people know that I've always had an interest, and maybe an itch to scratch to get back into club land... if the role's right."
Jimmy Bartel responded to a report linking him to the Bombers on today's episode of Footy Furnace.
Archie Roberts on a potential James Hird @essendonfc coaching comeback:
“I’ve spent a lot of time with Matty Lloyd (school football coach) and Hirdy was someone Lloydy always spoke about … if James gets the opportunity, I’m looking forward to it. I’ve only heard great things about him.”
@9NewsMelb@FootyonNine
@CraiG_Mc I support the club so will back whoever is chosen… that said, I’m hoping it’s Hird.
Longmire doesn’t appear to be the most charismatic of coaches… but if he is chosen and he gets the results, who cares.
“What a deadset joke.” 😳
Tony Shaw doesn’t understand why the James Hird speculation would impact other candidates vying for the job.

@CraiG_Mc Interesting. I imagine most would get behind anyone that can deliver success… we just haven’t had that.
I can’t speak for everyone, but i know i accepted & got behind each coach, & I got the impression it was the minority calling for Hird’s return…until he expressed interest.
@CraiG_Mc Whereas I think it’s self evident.
1. We’ve tried others and it hasn’t worked.
2. Everyone who has had anything to do with him is getting behind him (as far as I can tell - Sheedy, Lloyd, Long, Barnes, Bartel etc)
Both Lloyd and Longy said these words too.
