FG Rolls Out 1Gov Cloud Project to Drive Paperless Governance
The Federal Government has commenced the full rollout of its 1Government Cloud (1Gov) Digitalisation Project, designed to usher in paperless governance across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
Implemented by Galaxy Backbone Limited under the Sovereign Digitalisation Programme, the initiative introduces secure platforms such as GovDrive, GovMail, GovE-Sign, GovConference, and GovAsset Management, aimed at streamlining approvals, strengthening data sovereignty, and improving accountability.
The 1Gov platform will cut costs tied to printing and storage, enhance transparency, and secure sensitive government documents, while enabling faster decision-making across agencies.
This milestone aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, with a target of achieving 70% digitalisation of public services by 2025 and a fully paperless civil service by December 2025.
