So this is a statement that we should have issued at the time and for that we apologise, but with the recent blow up of the situation spanning from mod developers to rival modpack communities, we feel it is time that we set the record straight and break our silence in a more public manner than we did prior.
Trans rights was never referred to as political and we are saddened to see the past weaponised in this way, the “political shit” part of the screenshot was referring to the removal of the 2020 American election screens, items and links added into some mods. Without that prior context of what was actually meant we can see why it looks bad on us and those who were visible names in the screenshots with parts of a very long conversation cut down into 5 short images.
One of our team in the screenshots who originally called for the removal, is infact herself a trans woman, and this was not public or private knowledge at the time to anyone other than a select few team members. However this situation forced her to reveal that information before she was ready to, due to a multitude of death threats and accusations of transphobia over the span of a few days.
Select apologies and statements were issued privately to mod developers, apologies were also issued to everyone involved for the handling of the situation. Efforts for a peaceful resolution were made within a separate embassy discord where admissions and apologies were made by both sides on how the situation was handled, Which included atm team members, those involved in the issue at hand and a third party mediator.
The Allthemods community is amazing, and we do not stand for any form of bullying, harassment or transphobia. We know that the minecraft community has a large majority of LGBTQ developers, artists, authors and players, and this great community would not be the same without you, thank you all for playing our modpacks and allowing us to do what we love.
