Mr. Shameran Abed, Executive Director, BRAC International met Secretary, Rural Development, Shri Shailesh Kumar Singh to discuss the progress of Samaveshi Aajeevika Yojana (SAY).

DAY-NRLM partnered with BRAC in February 2024 to implement SAY, designed based on the globally proven Graduation Approach to support the most vulnerable households. The program is being scaled up with state-specific contextualizations.

Key discussion points included:

⭐️⁠The importance of coaching and sustainability of livelihoods
⭐️Overcoming challenges in far-flung areas
⭐️Centering community institutions as drivers of the program
⭐️Bringing global best practices and fostering intra-country learning

The Ministry and BRAC reaffirmed their commitment to rural prosperity through continued collaboration, aiming to transform more lives.

दीनदयाल अंत्योदय योजना - राष्ट्रीयआजीविका मिशन के विशेष वेबिनार में जलवायु परिवर्तन और उसके आजीविका पर असर की चर्चा

जलवायु परिवर्तन और प्राकृतिक आपदाओं के कारण सबसे ज़्यादा प्रभावित होने वाले लोगों की आजीविका को कैसे सुनिश्चित किया जाए, इसी विषय पर #DAYNRLM ने दिनांक 28 मई, 2025 को एक वेबिनार का आयोजन किया। वेबिनार में BRAC International, स्वयं शिक्षण प्रयोग, SEWA, राज्य आजीविका मिशन के प्रतिनिधियों और स्वयं सहायता समूह की महिलाओं ने अपने विचार व अनुभव साझा किए:

वेबिनार की ख़ास बातें-

1.प्रभाव: जलवायु परिवर्तन और प्राकृतिक प्रकोपों से देश में 3.5 करोड़ लोगों की आजीविका सीधे तौर पर प्रभावित हो सकती है।

2.DAY-NRLM क्यो ज़रूरी: 10 करोड़ परिवारों के विस्तृत नेटवर्क के कारण जलवायु परिवर्तन जैसे मुद्दों को मुख्य धारा में ले जाने के लिए राष्ट्रीय आजीविका मिशन से बेहतर ज़रिया नहीं हो सकता है।

3.क्लाइमेट कोचिंग: आर्थिक एवं सामाजिक रूप से हाशिये पर रहने वाले लोगों की आजीविका को पर्यवारण के साथ तालमेल बिठाकर चलाने के लिए की जाने वाली तैयारियों और इसके प्रसार पर ज़ोर देना ज़रूरी है।

4.हीटवेव पैरामीट्रिक बीमा: यह केवल आर्थिक सुरक्षा ही प्रदान नहीं करता, बल्कि आजीविका को जारी रखने और सामाजिक संरक्षण के लिए भी ज़रूरी है

DAY-NRLM conducts the 2nd edition of its #LearningWebinarSeries

On March 5th, 2025, the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) hosted the second edition of the Learning Webinar Series under the Samaveshi Aajeevika Yojana (SAY).

Key Highlights:

Sh. T. K. Anil Kumar (Additional Secretary, Rural Livelihoods, DAY-NRLM) inaugurated the webinar, emphasizing a specialized approach to elevate vulnerable women economically and socially.

Mrs. Smriti Sharan (Joint Secretary, Rural Livelihood) underlined the importance of accurate identification of the intended program participants.

Dr. Monika (Deputy Secretary, Rural Livelihood) highlighted the significance of sharing experiences & learning to optimize efforts & investments.

Ms. Shweta Banerjee (India Country Lead, BRAC International) praised DAY-NRLM's dedication to reaching the last mile.

Panellists, the grassroots professionals and SRLM/ CSO’s participated as panellist from Bihar, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Assam, and Tamil Nadu shared their insights on participatory targeting strategies and identifying extremely vulnerable households.

The webinar was organised for all the 11 State Rural Livelihood Missions where Inclusive Livelihood Program to include the poorest of poor in to SHG fold using the Graduation approach.

Additionally, Jeevika, Bihar also joined. (Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Chhattisgarh)

A Training Module on Inclusive Livelihoods Programme - “Inspire Change: Vision Building & Inclusive Livelihoods.” was also launched during the occasion.

A big thank you to the 200+ participants from State Rural Livelihoods Mission (SRLMs) and technical agencies who made this event a success!
