Today, CBI arrested him in Guwahati for allegedly accepting a ₹10 lakh bribe to grant a favourable extension of time and completion certificate for a four-laning project on National Highway-37 to a private contractor. During the searches, unaccounted cash of ₹2.62 crore was also found at his residence. Further asset assessment is underway.
