Hot take: Dashboards are a coping mechanism. Alerts are an admission of defeat. What we actually want is software that just tells us what’s wrong, why, and what to do about it. The fact that we’re still manually setting thresholds in 2026 is embarrassing.
Nobody wants another dashboard. Nobody wants to configure alerts. We want to open a tool and immediately know what’s going on. The entire observability industry is selling assembly when people are asking for answers.
