Dharmendra Pradhan should have been fired. I agree. He wasn’t. The next step for all those hurt by this audacity should have been to hold a grudge and take it out in the next elections.
Can't wait that long? Okay, protest. Peaceful protest is your right. Soliciting support from the masses? Fair game. A political party pulling the strings behind the curtain and paying celebrities to influence the masses to support your demands? Debatable, but still ok.
BUT, using this support to manipulate the masses, hoping to topple a democratically elected govt because that's the only way you can come to power? Lol, no way. To hell with democracy under threat, liberty under threat. Nothing is under threat. Such wet dreams should not be tolerated.
Any such attempts should be immediately and effectively handled with an aggressive police crackdown. An example must be set. It's been a long time coming.
Pune ppl please help me get this cute baby cat adopted. I found him abandoned in the society parking. He's litter trained and extremely playful.

okay but is it harming you? Do you go to college to study or to feel oppressed by someone's hairstyle? Ask muslim women to stop wearing hijab, ask sikh men to stop wearing turban next. Lady, you don't have to bring unnecessary things to defend UGC. It can be done rationally smh🤦🏻♀️
Students and faculty members in Indian universities (especially in Northern states like UP and Bihar) carry such symbols to campuses and classes. Why do you need to show the academic community that you are a Brahmin? Casteism starts when you identify yourself as a Brahmin, instead of a student or faculty members in universities. Indian universities often operate as an extension of society which is casteist, Brahmanical and patriarchal and the victims of which are the innocent students from SC,ST and OBC.

The True Story of Elephant Mahadevi (Madhuri): From Chains to Freedom
1/
For 33 years, Mahadevi the elephant stood on a cement floor, bound in chains, used in parades, beaten with ankush, and kept in solitary confinement at a Jain Math in Kolhapur.
While we lived our lives — she suffered.
2/
Snatched from her mother at age 3, Mahadevi was hidden away in a concrete shed, far from any forest or freedom.
She never saw another elephant for decades.
3/
She was forced to beg in villages, used in noisy processions, even made to roll kids in her trunk — all while enduring psychological torment.
In 2017, she fatally attacked her handler — a tragic but predictable outcome of cruelty.
4/
Despite this, the temple still tried to exploit her — renting her out for religious events.
Between 2012–2023, she was illegally transported across state borders at least 13 times.
5/
She was even sent to Telangana and paraded in Muharram processions – an illegal and traumatic act for a solitary, aging elephant with declining health.
No religious festival should rely on animal suffering.
6/
In 2023, the Telangana Forest Department seized her for illegal transport. She was declared seized government property.
Finally, there was hope.
7/
Her health was tragic:
🔴 Grade 4 arthritis
🔴 Overgrown nails
🔴 Rotten footpads
🔴 Foot rot from standing on concrete for 30+ years.
Still, the temple tried to stop her rescue through the courts.
8/
But on 28 July 2025, the Supreme Court of India ruled: Mahadevi must be freed.
Her comfort and care must come first.
Victory — for compassion.
9/
Despite the Supreme Court order, goons attacked PETA India and sanctuary workers with stones during her rescue.
One team member suffered a serious rib injury.
Even freedom wasn’t easy.
10/
On 30 July 2025, Mahadevi finally arrived at Vantara’s Elephant Welfare Trust, Jamnagar — her new forever home.
No chains. No beatings. Only care, therapy, friends, and a chance to heal.
11/
PETA India and FIAPO have offered the temple a mechanical elephant for rituals.
Tradition can survive without cruelty.
Elephants are not temple props. They are living beings.
12/
Let Mahadevi’s story be a turning point.
Say NO to live elephants in temples or processions.
Say YES to compassion.
