EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK: Léa Seydoux stars in ‘Gentle Monster,’ Netflix’s bold awards contender about a seemingly ordinary family undone by a father’s charge of possessing child sex abuse material. 

Directed by Austrian filmmaker Marie Kreutzer and also starring Catherine Deneuve, Laurence Rupp, Regina Fritsch and Jella Haase, the film will hit theaters Oct. 30 before streaming beginning Nov. 18.

Meu filme novo chama-se SOUTH OF TEHRAN (Sul de Teerã) e estreia no New York Film Festival em Outubro. Foi filmado em 16mm por Evgenia Alexandrova em Outubro do ano passado, durante as viagens de divulgação de O AGENTE SECRETO. É um curta metragem de 8 minutos e foi produzido por Emilie Lesclaux. A montagem é de Edu Serrano.

O filme tem como personagem principal o grande Jafar Panahi, com quem convivi durante meses no ano de 2025. Jafar e eu estávamos quase sempre juntos, com nossos filmes IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT e O AGENTE SECRETO. “Jafar, vamos fazer um filme!”, ele disse “Vamos!”.

SOUTH OF TEHRAN é fruto de um desafio feito por Dennis Lim, diretor artístico do @thenyff. Fazer um filme curto, durante o Festival, que seja um documento para o futuro. No ano em que RETRATOS FANTASMAS foi exibido no NYFF, Dennis programou o maravilhoso filme de Agnès Varda PIER PAOLO PASOLINI - AGNÈS VARDA - NEW YORK 1967, com P P Pasolini abrindo a sessão do RETRATOS. Eu achei chic e foi daí que surgiu a ideia. Obrigado Dennis. 🍷
