🇪🇸 España le hizo el pasillo a Argentina cuando fueron a recoger su medalla.
🇦🇷 ¿Cómo respondió Argentina? Dándonos la espalda cuando nosotros fuimos a por el trofeo.
Diferencia de clase.
🚨 Roy Keane on Nico Williams disallowed goal against Argentina:
“I’ve just seen the biggest robbery of this World Cup. The ball comes into the box, nobody touches anybody, everyone goes up for it, then one Argentina player starts shouting. The next thing you know, two defenders are on the floor appealing,
Nico Williams has scored, and Emiliano Martinez … who wasn’t even touched… is somehow lying there as well asking for a foul.
The referee blows immediately. No VAR review. No replay. No check to see if there was actually any contact. Just disallowed. Apparently if enough Argentina players fall over at the same time, that’s now considered conclusive evidence.
If we’re being honest, Paredes shouldn’t even still be on the pitch after some of the tackles he’s made today. Yet somehow the only thing the referee managed to spot instantly was an invisible foul.”
📡📻 No fue el inventor de la radio, pero sí quien consiguió llevarla al mundo.

James Clerk Maxwell never heard a radio.
He never saw television, radar, satellites, mobile phones or Wi-Fi.
Yet in 1865, his mathematics revealed the physical principle behind all of them.
Maxwell showed that a changing electric field creates a magnetic field, and a changing magnetic field creates an electric field. Together, they could sustain one another and travel through space as a wave.
When he calculated their speed, it matched the measured speed of light.
Light, Maxwell realised, was an electromagnetic wave.
But visible light was only part of what his theory allowed.
More than twenty years later, Heinrich Hertz generated and detected the invisible waves Maxwell’s equations had predicted.
Maxwell had died before seeing that confirmation.
He never witnessed the wireless civilisation that followed.
But every time information crosses a room, an ocean or the space between Earth and a satellite without a wire, it travels through the physical world Maxwell uncovered.

On this day in 1925, German Patent No. 416219 was granted for Arthur Scherbius’s “Encryption machine”, one of the foundational patents behind the Enigma machine.
Scherbius died in 1929, before Hitler came to power and before Enigma became one of the key tools of German military communication in the Second World War.
But the patent leaves a difficult question about the responsibility of an inventor.
Enigma’s most infamous use came after Scherbius’s death and beyond his control. But an inventor should be aware that a technology can outgrow its original market, its original purpose, and sometimes even its inventor’s intentions.
