The common man in Kerala won’t stay silent if KC is made CM now. The anger has already gone beyond control. Party might be able to control a few members of the party but how do they handle the rest.

MLAs backing him may not even be able to step into their own constituencies and face the public comfortably. Congress would end up losing every immediate by-election too. A large section of people have already made up their minds.

At this point, KC does not deserve the CM post over VDS by any measure. He cannot simply hijack the people’s mandate midway. If becoming CM was this important to him, he should have contested the elections and been part of the race from the beginning.

A significant number of people voted not just for Congress, but for VDS as well.

Making KC the CM now could trigger massive backlash. This won’t remain a Kerala issue alone.. it has the potential to hurt the party nationally as well.
