@cbensonoconnor A6: I can lead the way in supporting educators (novice and experienced) through collaboration, communication, and with a shared goal - student learning. #TLinPDS
@cbensonoconnor A5: Training new teachers can be incorporated into a PD opportunity for teachers. The new teachers will benefit from learning new teaching strategies and the reality of a classroom, but the teachers will learn best practices to incorporate into their classrooms. #TLinPDS
@cbensonoconnor A4: I think that the most important choice is #1 - comprehensive mission beyond either institution. This requires that both schools are collaborating to better the education system as a whole. It is important that all educators are continually growing & developing. #TLinPDS
@cbensonoconnor A3: Tools I would use as an instructional leader are:
1. Reliability (being available to support teachers & students)
2. Open-minded (willing to try new things, work with new people, & open to feedback)
3. Determination (working towards a common goal: student learning) #TLinPDS
@cbensonoconnor A2: It is critical for instructional coaches to develop positive relationships with teachers in order to create change. Coaches should also provide opportunities for teachers to share their expertise and knowledge in order to build positive and meaningful relationships. #TLinPDS
@cbensonoconnor A1: My leverage is the relationships I build with each individual student. I aspire to understand each of my students inside & outside of the classroom. As for empowering attributes, I have the dedication and drive to make change in order to better the education system. #TLinPDS
@MrsONeill0617 A6: I believe that it would be extremely beneficial to work with pre-service teachers on a TL project. This would allow pre-service teachers to work with adult learners and it would promote continuous learning and development of teachers. #TLinPDS
@MrJ_Carr@MrsONeill0617 We have a digital citizenship course that all of our 6th graders must complete. Let me know if you need any resources. #TLinPDS
@MrsONeill0617 A5: I would like to take the lead on developing a Makerspace program at my school. I would like to visit schools with up & running Makerspace programs, find research on the impact of Makerspace on student learning, and propose this project to our admin and BOE. #TLinPDS
@MrsONeill0617 A4: Blogs encourage additional conversations, sharing of resources, and communication with a wider range of people. Maintaining consistent participation of educators can be difficult. #TLinPDS
@jlhunzi @cbensonoconnor@MrsONeill0617 We have had teachers loop in the past. I have never looped with a class, but think it would be beneficial for my student with selective mutism. #TLinPDS
@MrsONeill0617 A3: I feel that my district encourages distributed leadership. Each level of grades (K-2, 3-5, 6-8) has a team leader that meets regularly with admin to discuss ideas, share opinions, & make decisions. The goal is to positively impact our students, school, & community. #TLinPDS
@jlhunzi @cbensonoconnor@MrsONeill0617 I have co-taught with our EL teacher and our enrichment teacher. It is such an amazing experience for both students and teachers. #TLinPDS
@cbensonoconnor@MrsONeill0617 I agree! I think teachers settle into one grade level or area and it is challenging for them to see the value of change. In order to continue growing and learning I feel change is necessary. #TLinPDS
@MrsONeill0617 A2: Next year, I plan to propose and develop a Makerspace program at my school. I would also like to take on a team leader position. In the next 5 years, my goal is to coach teachers in STEM education in order to share my passion with as many students as possible. #TLinPDS
@MrsONeill0617 A1: On my new team, I have taken the lead on math and science curriculum. I initiated the differentiation of math groups and re-vamped our science curriculum. In the next year or so, I would like to take on the position as team leader of the intermediate grade levels. #TLinPDS
@julielemasters Yes, bouncing ideas off others, designing cross-curricular lessons, sharing thoughts and concerns all aide in student learning. #TLinPDS
