In your semi-regular reminder that technological racism is real, here's a story on a 14 y.o. Black girl kicked out of a skating rink bc their facial recognition software misidentified her as someone else. Then add insult to injury, these asshats have the nerve to not apologize.
Let’s be clear: Juneteenth is not about white education, getting your white friends to “get it” or getting white people to simply say Black people’s names.
It is about loving Black people, telling our stories, and changing the world we live in.

Some of you would like to think that this type of explicit racism has been banished from educated and polite society. It has not been. People had just learned to keep it to themselves.
