@EissaMo8@MichaelJesusS7@markgoldbridge Against the current France yes, if you give them even a bit of space they’ll absolutely dismantle you. So as the offensively weaker team you go with a deep block closing off space while relying on counter play.
@Sci_Dalek@vern0nxcx@sereneseadog It’s a very extreme interpretation to go from no work on sabbath to using a light switch is sin because making a fire used to be difficult.
@benghazi_ebooks@Cassidy_Rob The problem is that once you are 18 and not playing for a pro club your chances of making it to that level are very close to nil.
@stevemagness@BayernAusBoston Even nowadays in the highest German women’s league 69% of players have a second job. And that’s already a huge improvement from not that long ago.
@Mac_The_Jazz@mandalawyerin@BayernAusBoston Because unless you’re an extreme outlier amongst the already tiny fraction that ever make it to a pro level. If you don’t have the technical skill at 18 to play pro you won’t have the technical skill ever.
@serenityposting@sosatistics@Tyre_94 Basically this is my answer to this. It’s not professional teams that get kids into playing the sport is amateurs.

@raylehmann@DPearsonPHL 100% of grass roots clubs in the UK are run by volunteers.
We pay between £100-£200 for an annual registration, which includes playing/training kit etc.
You don’t need to worry about elite coaching just yet. The first priority is simply to get kids into grass roots clubs.
@serenityposting@sosatistics@Tyre_94 Almost every single village here has a football club with a youth program down to < 6 years old and they definitely don’t get any transfer money whatsoever.
@ChiefPoke_@RickP1884@Don_K_Williams May I present to you Phillip Lahm one of the best defenders Germany ever produced and a world champion. He’s only 1.7m tall with a slim build, defense requires just as much positioning and technique (with and without the ball) as offense just with a different focus.
@Punished3ntropy@Tyre_94 Football doesn’t need athletic outliers/extremes. Most positions are mainly about positioning, timing, creativity instead of being extraordinarily big/strong/fast and I’d argue that the majority of top level players athleticism is realistically achievable for the average bloke.
@KennethBat77681@swabackerjau France and Spain would’ve cared just as much since the point is that it’s open corruption of a nation pressuring an independent organisation to follow their wims to gain an unfair advantage.
@burgahmeister@Rhys63591366@dannyoh337 It’s literally against the rules to appeal refereeing decisions…
FIFA regulations (Article 9, Section 6) states that: "No protests may be made about the referee’s decisions regarding facts connected with play. Such decisions are final and not subject to appeal
