@DJSnM The device, whether a phone or iPod is likely on a kind of case or what is sometimes called a sled - so the connector is likely plugged into that and not the device - hence the odd position. In my line of work, sleds are used to add barcode scanners or other functionality.

I sympathise for anyone at Twitter who lost their jobs, but Twitter was planning mass layoffs before @elonmusk took over - he just accelerated things. So let’s all grow up and stop acting like he somehow has ruined Twitter. That remains to be seen.
