The S&C world can sometimes feel like a toxic environment. Too many coaches think “they have all the answers, everyone else is doing it wrong.” The best coaches aren’t the ones who know everything, but the ones who keep learning, question themselves, and learn from others.
If you stop at discomfort, you leave the door open to missed opportunities.
Avoid it once, that’s okay. Avoid it multiple times, that’s a pattern.
Growth happens when you push past that threshold. That’s where your body adapts.
You can’t force success, it has to come from within. And when kids are pushed to train too much, too soon, we don’t build champions; we risk burning out the passion and motivation that fuels long-term success.
To question ourselves, as a coach or simply as a human, is what makes us better.
