Hey just a reminder for everyone that even tho places are reopening, pls don’t go sicko mode and go out! But please continue to practice social distancing, eating tons of vegetables, getting enough nutrients, drink ALOT of water, and get plenty of rest. #Genlit15
This is so important to take note of! Love between friends is strong, it’s sad to see when people assume that if a girl and a guy are friends they are automatically dating. Friendship knows no boundaries #Genlit15
Been having to deal with some racism recently and it ain’t cute 😔✌🏽 but the best part is I’m not afraid to say something back, BC dealing with that type of stuff my entire life has taught me one thing: racist people get mad uncomfortable when u confront them #Genlit14
Reading this made me 😬 I’m not shocked people like that exist, just disappointed. Some people don’t have homes, and they can only live in public areas in whatever they can find for shelter. But yeah get mad at people for something they can’t help 😬😬 #Genlit14
Said it before and I'll say it again: conservatives view social distancing guidelines as a thing the community is doing *to them*, instead of something they are doing *for the community*. This crisis continues to shine a bright spotlight on the worst people among us.
U know, practicing consent is always good, and reading this made me realize that people should start with daily life activities. I think saying no is hard sometimes, especially if you don’t feel confident enough to, but I say YELL IT. be as loud as you can be! #Genlit14
This reminded me about how in elementary school me and my friends would be shamed for speaking Spanish. And as a kid I didn’t u see stand why, but now that I’m older I realize it’s just a form of racism. This is still a problem even now, and I rlly won’t stand for it #Genlit14
Shamed for speaking Spanish.
Shamed for not speaking Spanish.
Shamed for speaking “imperfectly.”
Shamed for not being taught.
Shamed for having an accent.
Shamed by your own, by others.
Shamed for trying.
You don’t have to prove your Latinidad to anybody. We exist. Punto.
AGREED. People shit on feminists a lot of times, but they fail to realize it really is a fight for equality. I think those who twist the word around truly don’t want equality for all. #Genlit14
Imo I agree with the video. Being a cop is a job, and you can easily leave that career. Being a POC is something people can’t just put away at night when they’re done with their job. #Genlit14
I’m saying this BC i recently was talking 2 my sis, n she did a whole rant awhile back abt how a lot of men dehumanize girls and they act like it’s ok. I think it’s important for women 2 vocalize their struggles and together as humans we should put down any misogynistic views!

Imo we should definitely use this quarintine as time to self-reflect! “Was I my best today?” “Could I improve on my actions?” And so on! I think this especially important when talking to other minority groups too! Listen and reflect, and keep a positive mind :) #Genlit13

This is something I’ve noticed my entire life. It’s like immigrants are only seen as worthy or even “ok” when they have a higher education, because if they don’t they’re “dirty, uneducated, etc” like? Bro that’s just deadass racism at its finest #Genlit13
Exactly why I reject the “Nigerians are most educated and achieving” narrative to justify immigrants’ worth. Model minority tropes:
1. are anti-US Blacks cuz they refer to “good” minorities contrasting the “bad” minority
2. make supposedly desirable immigrants sacrificial lambs
I remember seeing tht tiktok when it became popular awhile back n it made me MAD. The whole idea abt patients faking stuff is ridiculous, n as a healthcare professional WHT made her think this was a good idea to make in the first place? #Genlit13
Less than 6 months ago, I started #PatientsAreNotFaking exactly because as a black disabled person, I can see how systemic racism is in healthcare.
Moments like the #coronavirus highlight the exact healthcare disparities leading to African Americans being left to slaughter.
This is so important. This applies to everyone! Don’t bottle up fears and emotions. Being vulnerable, seeking help shouldnt be seen as a sign of weakness! Especially with everything going on rn, don’t be afraid to talk to a friend or a loved one abt how you feel rn #Genlit13
I agree, it is extremely disappointing. There is so much racism behind having that type of mindset that “black men are threatening and dangerous.” Like no, they are human! They are not some poorly defined image that racist people have created for them. #Genlit13
This is so disappointing! Still in today’s society African American men are viewed as threatening and dangerous from just the color of their skin. Don’t let his physical stature be big or tall, because grave consequences will be even greater for him. #GenLit13#HumanRights
YES AGREED. the moment they tell to rethink my OWN feelings because of experiences I’ve had as a minority is the dumbest thing they can do. It’s really like “damn my bad, sorry I don’t trust a system that wasn’t made for people like me! I should TOTALLY rethink!” #Genlit13
It’s maddening when yt or cishet ppl tell me I need to “think about my privileges” and to “vote for the lesser evil.” l’ve felt the consequences of a Drump admin. I had faith in this colonizer electorial system and it FAILED. I’ll just do more direct action. #GenderandLit13
