There is huge downside to the US if its allies moved away from these to local alternatives. The reason the US has outperformed since 2008 is because of these tech cos.

@DIDDLYONE @pjcboro @LBC If the US announced a VAT scheme the world wouldn’t care. Under your argument if the uk switched from a 20% VAT on everything to a 20% tariff on US imports that would be the same, even though it would be hugely detrimental to US imports into the UK.
