Ok - here it is. The petition to RESTORE TRANS RIGHTS in the UK to what they were under the original Equality Act 2010 - which was NEVER a “bathroom bill.” And to quash the ridiculous UKSC ruling. Share, share, share! 🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️https://t.co/cJTlwGQa3g https://t.co/IbkpVMgtUk
‘Israel does not listen to any advice, even from its friends, if it has any left.’
This a weary, but nevertheless eloquent and very human statement from Pakistan’s ambassador to his Israeli counterpart.
BREAKING: Israel dismisses IDF top lawyer Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi for leaking video of Israeli soldiers raping Palestinian.
Minister of Defense of Israel Israel Katz threatens her with 'imprisonment for many years" & calls her actions "a grave blood libel against heroic IDF fighters."
Rape victim suffered ruptured intestine, severe injury to anus, lungs & broken ribs.
Israelis rioted for the right to rape, ministers defended rapists and one rapist became a TV celebrity. All charges were dropped.
This is Israel
President Catherine Connolly @PresidentIRL met some of these incredible women last week at her first official visit to England. This history needs to be celebrated in a song 😁 @cmatbaby
Equality is not conditional. Dignity at work is not negotiable.
The EHRC Code of Practice has been published. UCU is examining it urgently.
This is a significant and unsettling moment and we will not leave branches to navigate it alone.
Employers' duties under equality and employment law remain in force; this does not change that.
We've written to @UniversitiesUK: universities and colleges are responsible for protecting staff and students, not putting them at risk through rushed or inconsistent decisions.
UCU will organise, defend, and fight for the rights of trans and non-binary people.
Today @DrJoGrady wrote to the University of Reading.
Trans staff and students are being forced into formal grievances just to find out why policies that affect their daily lives exist.
That is not legal compliance. It is institutional opacity. We’re calling on Reading to act.
"Tommy Robinson could have organised his demo on any weekend, but chose a day coinciding with the annual Nakba Day march.
Rather than push for date of Robinson march to be changed, Met Police ordered the route of Nakba march to be moved.
To allow tens of thousands of Robinson's supporters, who have track record of violence, to descend on London the same day as a peaceful anti-genocide march is an act of gross irresponsibility on the part of the Met"
@PulaRJS
If pro-Palestine marches are to be banned because a small minority chant “Globalise the Intifada,” what are they going to do about the much larger number of people who chant “Allah, Allah, who the fuck is Allah?” on right-wing marches?
I think we all know the answer.
The @CommonsPAC report on SEND published today highlights the need for greater provision of specialists - like Educational Psychologists - who play a vital role in delivering the support children & young people need and deserve.

Remember those words scrawled on the wall – "FUCK PAKIS" – whenever a pundit or a journalist tries to make out that this is all a misguided expression of legitimate concerns about immigration.
So yesterday far right racist rioters in Sunderland threw rocks & missiles at Filipino NHS nurses on their way to provide emergency cover at the hospital.
Your silence is deafening @Nigel_Farage & your band of inciters of racist hate.
Shame on you.

Never forget UK broadcasting 's complicity with the Far Right - LBC gave Farage & his awful racist views a lucrative contract for his own show & the BBC invited him on QT 36 times . Previously , he'd been employed on the Russian government funded channel Russia Today .
This sad controversy proves 3 unfortunate truths to me:
1. Many people wrongly judge by appearances
2. There is still much ignorance around gender, with much stereotyping
3. Gender Criticals do not want to protect women, just certain types of women

Utterly egregious coverage here.
Fact checking: people who are still having their asylum claims assessed by the home office are not 'illegal' which is why they're in a hotel and not a prison cell.
More importantly: no human is illegal and NOTHING justifies this.
So @lisanandy seemingly joins the ranks of people who've definitely read the Cass report but not managed to understand it actually said there is no good evidence for either benefits or harms of puberty blockers long term.
