📰LASUCOM HOLDS SECOND WHITE COAT CEREMONY FOR MEDICAL AND DENTAL STUDENTS.

On Friday, 12th September 2025, the College held its second-ever White Coat Ceremony for its new medical and dental students to symbolize their formal transition into clinical training and affirm their commitment to professionalism, empathy and ethical medical practice.

In his keynote remarks, the Provost of the College, Prof. Olufemi Idowu, highlighted the symbolism of the white coat as a badge of responsibility

Speaking through The Head of Medicine Department and Consultant cardiologist, Dr. F.A Daniel, he urged them to wear the white coat not only with pride but also with a deep sense of duty, stressing that the ceremony was both a celebration and a reminder of the values of compassion, excellence, and service that define the medical profession.

Goodwill messages were also extended from the Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Prof. S.O Ikuerowo represented by Dr. A.O Ajibare, the Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department - Dr. O. Kuye, the Acting President of LASUMSA - Olalere Malik and the President of the Dental Students Association - Ososanya Samuel who offered practical advice on succeeding in the rigorous but rewarding profession.

The ceremony’s highlight was the White Coat Presentation, where each student was called forward individually to receive and don their personalized white coat, a moment of pride witnessed by faculty, colleagues and friends.

The White Coat Ceremony is an international tradition in medical schools that began in the United States in the 1990s as a way to welcome students into the medical profession and remind them of the responsibilities that come with patient care. He

Introduced only last year, the White Coat Ceremony is now firmly taking root at LASUCOM, with this second edition continuing to inspire students as they embark on their journey toward becoming future healthcare professionals.

@nimc_ng I have a suspended NIN and I went to the NIN office , I was told to pay 7k for modification which I payed now I was told that they couldn’t do the modification because they got an internal processing error. What do I do?

@nimc_ng My NIN got suspended and I went to Ikeja local government to lift the suspension but I was told to pay 7,000naira while the remita code is 1,000naira. Is this normal?
