@liftblog Sad to see this. Conditions were pretty icy when I was there earlier this month. Lots of increasingly rare old riblet hardware can be found there.
Glad I got to ride past the 1949 lattice towers on the Upper Bowl lift. The Y-shaped tower heads on Multorpor were neat to see too
@milesintransit1@JebBrooks@flyfrompti According to @flightconnec, Air North, and Transwest Air also fly ATRs in Canada.
In Mexico and the Carribbean there’s TAG airlines, InterCaribbean, LIAT20, BahamasAir, etc..
@milesintransit1@JebBrooks@flyfrompti Calm Air still flies them! Here’s some shots from a Winnipeg-Churchill flight that I took last year. Note the cargo strapped to the passenger seating.
@liftblog Words cannot even begin to express just how valuable and appreciated your site is by so many people. The photos, spreadsheets, etc. are all incredible.
@Flighty Awesome! Any chance we can get the ability to manually enter Tail Numbers for completed flights? Would be a great help for smaller airlines like Perimeter Aviation that provide incomplete data
#TodayinHistory: #OnThisDay in 1904, the #NYCSubway opened. It is now the largest 24-hour operating subway system in the world, with 472 stations, over 800 track miles and a fleet of more than 6,000 cars.
Happy #SubwayDay, @MTA!
@horsemankukka @leo_wallentin @seatsixtyone@AngeloinLisbon I’m not familiar with the cadence of Finnish public financing appropriation negotiations- when do you think we’d know more?
@seatsixtyone This is great! Currently working out how to get from Rovaniemi to Gällivare in March; starting to lose hope that a cross-border train will start by then.
One thing worth mentioning- VR still runs 1970-80s blue sleepers during peak season. Some do prefer them over the modern cars.
@Lenny_du_Nord@seatsixtyone It does surprise me that there is no direct bus service from Haparanda train station to train stations (Kemi, or even Kolari!) on the Finnish side.
@liameoconnell Great shot! It’s striking how similar this looks to the old Manhattan els. Uncovered third rail, wood planks, no outside walkway, and track-level US&S signal heads with auxiliary aspects stacked on top.
The only thing out of place is that electric (I assume model EM-1) tripstop
This holiday season, we continue the tradition of Holiday Nostalgia Rides on our 1930s R1/9 cars! Departing from the F line’s 2nd Avenue station in Lower Manhattan, our vintage train will transport straphangers back in time every Saturday in December. Learn more at https://t.co/xnPsjKI9rL.
