Imagine living in a house where the items you interact with behave in annoying unexpected ways. One day, picking up your cup of coffee makes it appear right next to your foot and it stays that way for year.
Now take this and multiple to software you use on desktop, web, mobile.
I'm getting the impression that Apple is intentionally making the Music app on macOS a bad experience to discourage offline music ownership. In macOS 27 they removed the ability to select multiple albums by holding โ so now you can't sync several to devices at once.
@SweetCornSeason@NekoMichiUBC Like what am I supposed to do here? I use multiple album selection all the time when organising playlists.
Stop using it? Just accept the regression and do it one by one?
@SweetCornSeason@NekoMichiUBC There should be a law against this. Companies give you a digital environments to foster your content libraries, then someone thinks it's no longer topical and all those users get subjected to either code rot or features that are part of a particular flow just disappear.
Using WhatsApp is digital masochism.
Why would you change the way text editing works and link handling against all other applications in the entire operating system?
And it's deliberate. If it were a bug, they'd fix it, but it's been years like this.
Vibe-coded an app to control brightness of vintage Apple Studio and Cinema displays connected to more modern Macs. Video shows the CLI version, but github has the bundled version.

@wsellers@Scobleizer I was watching this show live and left the stream open for the after-show. Loved to see people mingle and always imagined I'd get there somehow and meet my tech heroes. Alas, the opportunity never came.
What's the scoop with SynCloudOS?
Here's a video demo showcasing our latest improvements, some backend and some frontend.
From MultiSwitch DOM multitasking to the NSE component system, SynCloudOS redefines webapps like you've never seen before.
Saved a few 2006 and 2007 iMacs from a uni that closed down. Rest got e-wasted, unfortunately. Two things: it never occurred to me that the last eMac pre-dated these Intel iMacs by just a year. Second - 2006 was 20 years ago. These iMacs were in service for 20 years.
I've experienced many things in life and noticed them to be karmic, but the most obvious so for is how direct the correlation between macOS becoming shit and Windows users flocking to it.
When I was a kid, I thought very few DVDs had a good looking image. When Blu-rays hit the market, I was amazed at the image quality. Now though, after slowly diving into the world of UHD, many of the Blu-rays appear just like the not-so-great DVDs of yesteryear.
On Sequoia, I held out updating due to a plethora reported issues with Safari 26. It's now v26.3 - seems safe, I thought. Visual glitches in UI chrome, layout glitches, animations in tabs don't work. Had to roll back to Safari 18.6.
It's 6AM in the morning and I just heard an extremely generic, unrecognisable "beep" from somewhere in my apartment. I have no idea which device did that and for what reason? I've never heard any beeps besides my AC unit when being controlled.
