To collect Fabelo means to collect a painter, a craftsman, a sculptor, an engraver and an illustrator; all at once.
Today we get to admire his work on silk.

Her relationship with femininity has also encouraged her work: ““My subjects are beautiful and strong women; my art represents them and the struggles they go through. I am also including myself in my paintings.”

Osy Milian (Cuba, 1992) is this week’s #promisingyoungartist.
The Cuban visual artist, graduated both from San Alejandro Institute and the Higher Institute of Art (ISA), already has a long-standing career that includes solo exhibitions worldwide.
Her painting has been influenced by global pop culture and known millennial references. However, Cuban symbols such as typical colonial tails and old stamps have appeared in her work as a way to reinforce her multicultural identity as an artist.
TGIF! May your weekend be as happy as we feel when we look at Alberto Lago’s work 🌈✨
.
🎨 Lago, Alberto. “La cumbre del sentimiento”. 2017. Fluorescent acrylic on canvas. 150 x 200 cm. Maxima Gallery.

On his 92nd birthday, Alfredo Sosabravo has decided to unveil new sculptures at the Castle of the Royal Force, Old Havana.
And of course we couldn’t miss the opportunity to be there and to congratulate him.
Happy birthday, Alfredo Sosabravo!
In “Arte con arte” she was exhibited among legends of the contemporary Cuban art scene like Manuel Mendive and Roberto Fabelo.
Her first solo exhibition was “Iroko Moforibale” (January, 2022), curated by Jorge Peré at Centro Hispanoamericano.
This week’s #promisingyoungartist is Gabriela Pez (Cuba, b.1994).
The autodidactic artist has been exploring her identity and femininity, not only through different techniques, also through religion, elements of nature and references to other women artists.
Currently, she’s expanding her creative processes by working with handmade paper that she crafts on her own.
She has taken part in many collective exhibitions, such as “Maleza” at Ona Galería, and “Arte con arte” by Colección Luciano Méndez.
